COVID-19 Update: Programming & Events Canceled Through March 29
March 16, 2020
Dear friends and supporters of Girls Inc. of Tarrant County,
It is our privilege to deliver upon our mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold so they can grow up to be healthy, educated, and economically independent women each and every day. The health and safety of our Girls Inc. girls, staff, interns and volunteers is always a priority. After consulting with our school district partners, community leaders, and guidance from public health officials, we made the decision to cancel all programming, events, activities, and field trips from March 14 through March 29 to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We will continue to monitor recommendations from our public health officials and communicate further impact to Girls Inc. programs as needed.
In the meantime, the Girls Inc. of Tarrant County team is not losing sight of our mission. In fact, our staff is already serving Girls Inc. girls through digital and virtual means to meet their social and emotional needs during this unique time for our local and global community.
“Girls Inc. creates a safe place for me to be vulnerable by sharing my emotions which helps me form a sisterhood with other girls.” – Mia, age 15
With your continued financial support, we will be able to provide the tools and resources to girls to ensure they become the successful women our community needs and deserves. We are thankful so many of you recognize the value and importance of investing in the bright futures of Girls Inc. girls – especially in times like these – and appreciate your continued support during this time and into the future. While our team works remotely, we will continue to work with our partners to support the well-being of our girls. Thank you for being a partner in this work and a champion of Girls Inc. girls and their families.
