Attention 6th and 7th grade girls! Join us on Saturday May 13th for the Girls Inc. Maker Mavens Day.

We will be creating sewable circuits with conductive thread. We will also make our very own battling bristlebots! And back by popular demand – we will also have Sphero chariot races!

What is a Maker?

She is a creator, an inventor, and a do-it-yourselfer. She uses her curiosity and lots of different tools and materials to make creations that solve problems, improve lives, and just plain entertain!

What is a Maven?

Why, she is an expert, of course!

What is a Girls Inc. Maker Maven?

She is a 6th-8th grade girl interested in exploring her inner scientist through hands-on activities in engineering, circuitry, coding, robotics, and more. She will use littleBits to create backpack burglar alarms, the perfect prank, and her very own music and light show. At Girls Inc. Maker Mavens, she can expect to interact with 10-15 fellow middle school girls, make new friends, and discover her inventive side!

When and where will Girls Inc. Maker Mavens meet?

We will meet at the Girls Inc. of Tarrant County office in downtown Fort Worth. Occasionally we will venture out and take field trips to expand our technical knowledge within the community. All events will be posted on the Girls Inc. website, and online registration instructions will be posted.
