Maker Mavens Workshops
Fall Workshops for Elementary School (3rd-5th grade)
2nd Saturday of every month from 11 AM – 12:30 PM via ZOOM

Maker Mavens (MM) are fun and educational Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) workshops that takes place once a month on a Saturday morning to introduce girls to STEM. The girls will explore her inner scientist through interactive hands-on STEM activities with other girls of her age. There’s a $5.00 fee for each workshop and the girls will receive a STEM kit prior to their workshop(s) they register.*
Workshop 1 – Ice Cream- it’s in a bag!
Saturday, September 12th at 11 AM-12 PM
The participants will make milk change state to form ice cream without a freezer. They will explore the properties of everyday materials and observe how they can change state.
Workshop 2 – STEM w/ TCU Engineering Department
Saturday, October 10th at 11 AM-12 PM
Participants will use their critical thinking skills to complete a series of hands-on STEM activities with TCU Engineering students.
Workshop 3 – Meteorology: Weather & Clouds
Saturday, November 14th at 11 AM-12 PM
Participants will explore the world of meteorology as they learn about weather, clouds, and science through hands-on activities.
Workshop 4 – Play doh Circuits
Saturday, December 12th at 11 AM-12 PM
Participants will learn about energy, electricity, and circuits as they build light-up sculptures using play doh.
