Spring Workshops for Elementary School (2nd-5th grade)
2nd Saturday of every month from 11 AM – 12:30 PM via ZOOM

Maker Mavens (MM) are fun and educational Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) workshops that takes place once a month on a Saturday morning to introduce girls to STEM. The girls will explore her inner scientist through interactive hands-on STEM activities with other girls of her age. There’s a $5.00 fee for each workshop and the girls will receive a STEM kit prior to their workshop(s) they register.*
Workshop 1 – Dig it up! Gemstone Discovery
Saturday, January 16th at 11 AM-12:30 PM
Participants will explore naturally formed crystals and gemstones from around the world while digging in a real gem mine STEM kit.
Workshop 2 – Voyage to the Volcano
Saturday, February 13th at 11 AM-12:30 PM
Participants will learn science behind volcanoes by designing, creating, and observing a volcano erupt using safe and simple ingredients.
Workshop 3 – Chemistry Lab
Saturday, March 13th at 11 AM-12:30 PM
Participants will become a chemist to perform simple science experiments and learn about chemistry.
Workshop 4 – Engine Girls!
Saturday, April 10th at 11 AM-12:30 PM
Participants will put on their engineer hat to learn about motors and create a motor engine.
Workshop 5 – Rocket Launcher
Saturday, May 15th at 11 AM-12:30 PM
Participants will build their own flying rocket while learning about the world of rocketry.
